Needs for New Moms was formed by Laura Hodges, RN in 2011. After 23 years of working as a Registered Nurse on a postpartum/newborn nursery unit in a large hospital, I found a need for assisting new families in their own home.
Growing up in Athens, Georgia and attending the University of Georgia, I moved to Greenville, South Carolina in 1987 and received my Nursing Degree in 1989. My passion for nursing has spread worldwide as I have traveled to over 13 third world countries providing medical care. I am active as a volunteer in my community assisting with Women's Health Services at the Greenville Free Medical Clinic. I also spend time volunteering with the Alzheimer's Association and a local Assisted Living where my mother is presently living with Alzheimer's. I enjoy road cycling, cooking, arts, and snuggling with my cat, Minksie.
