In Home Lactation Support

At Needs for New Moms we provide both IBCLC (International Board of Certified Lactation Consultants) and Lactation Counselors. IBCLC is the global authority that determines the competence of practitioners in lactation and breastfeeding care. These consultants are part of the maternal-child health care team that focuses on helping the mother and child with any breastfeeding issues/concerns they may be facing. Generally, a lactation consultant helps the mother and child with issues such as latching difficulties, painful nursing, low milk production and inadequate weight gain. Lactation visits generally last from one to two hours, focusing on feeding problems and post hospital stay follow-up concerns. We can also help you establish feeding for multiples or problem-solve if you need some extra support.
